THE EVERYDAY CLEANING NOTES / 01

A room-by-room
dusting routine.

Start with a manageable area. A repeatable order can help you notice overlooked spots without turning every clean into a whole-house project.

1. Prepare the space

Move small, fragile objects out of the way. Read care instructions for delicate finishes and fabrics. Turn off fans and give moving parts time to stop. Avoid spraying or dusting inside electrical equipment.

2. Work high to low

Begin with accessible upper corners and shelves, then work toward furniture and lower ledges. Falling dust is easier to collect when the floor is the last step. Never overreach or stand on unstable furniture.

3. Take windows in sections

Check how the blind or shade manufacturer recommends cleaning the material. Test gentle strokes on an inconspicuous area. Clean accessible ledges afterward, without leaning out of a window.

4. Finish around furniture

Check accessible gaps for cords and sharp objects. Use a tool that fits easily. Do not force an attachment into a narrow space or move heavy furniture alone. Finish by collecting dust from the floor.

5. Reset the tools

Follow the kit’s component-specific care instructions. Let washed items dry completely before storing them. Inspect handles and connections before the next use.
